Just a quick note - at last night’s commissioner meeting the county commissioners approved taking Overlook Pass into the county roads system.
This brings to an end the status of this road that has been in limbo after the previous owners of the WISP sold to the new owners. The new WISP owners did not take ownership and no one else wanted ownership due to the huge liability and expense. After the Board of Realtors pulled representatives from several key bodies that all had an interested in this road, they were able to come to a mutual agreement on sharing the expenses and the County will do all the maintenance. This is great news as thousands travel on this road to get to the top of Marsh mountain and the top of the Wisp resort.

Costing more to Rent
Rents in April were 4% higher than a year before, according to a report from Zillow. That's the fastest increase in two years, outpacing home prices which rose by 3%, the report showed.
Rental affordability is getting worse, and it doesn't look like it will be improving anytime soon. "This is here to stay," said Svenja Gudell, senior director of economic research at Zillow. "We will continue to see rental increases, and affordability will worsen before it gets better."

Best time to list your home.
Most homebuyers begin contacting agents in May and June, so it's good to get your home listed in late March on average. That's enough time to make realtors aware of your listing, but not too much time that the home appears to have been languishing by the time peak buying season begins.
However, this rule is a national average, and in colder locales like Boston, the best time to list is in early April, while places farther South call for listings a bit earlier. On average, homes listed in late March sell faster and for 2% more than comparable homes that are listed at other times.

THE HIGHEST ROI: REPLACING YOUR FRONT DOOR
1. The Highest ROI: Replacing Your Front Door
Year in and year out, no single project has provided such a healthy return on your home improvement dollar as anew front door. A replacement steel door averaged a 98% return on investment — by far the highest return in our historical look at the “Cost vs. Value Report.”
It’s also the lowest-cost project in the annual report at $1,230. It’s an energy upgrade that has great curb appeal and needs virtually no maintenance.
“It gives you the best bang for your buck in terms of transforming the look and feel of your home,” says Brandon Erdmann, president of the remodeling firm HomeSealed Exteriors in Milwaukee. “Plus, old exterior doors can be a huge source of energy loss. So you’re improving the look of your house, improving energy efficiency, and you’re able to do it without breaking the bank.”
